You act like, "It's you, oh of course!" You laugh like it's your funniest oldest joke But you don't know why I'm not laughing But you don't know why I'm not laughing But you don't know why I'm not laughing

"(i know you're not) acting" was recorded in a somewhat experimental way. There are 4 single takes of the same guitar part that playback all together, but they were all captured without hearing the previously recorded takes. The only guide used was that of seeing where the previous take's waveform started, else, they were isolated in performance. This creates a sorta of hazy, blurry effect as the guitars weave in and out of sync with each other. You can here that they're all very much so related in that they were played in the same session and headspace, but their slight speed ups and slow downs create something beautifully disorienting I feel. There are also 4 vocal takes that playback together, recorded the same, although while being able to hear the guitars for guidance.
